How can I short the price of gold?

If I think the price of gold (in US dollars) is going to go down, how can I use an option or short sale to bet on this?

1. You could short "ABX" or "GG" which are gold stocks. Also, check and see if you can short "GLD" the Streettracks Gold Trust... Good Luck Buy some put options on some Gold Stocks.
2. Spend your money investing in some financial education - or even history books. Or maybe see a shrink. I am sorry. I will try not to be rude - seriously my friend - don't do this. The stock market and the US dollar are going to crash and gold is nowhere near the peak it will reach - don't short gold. Short the dollar and buy all the gold American Eagle coins you can get your hands on.

4. You could open a futures trading account and sell gold futures. The CBOT has a mini gold futures now that trades electronically (YG is the symbol). You could also sell spot gold - Oanda is an example of a broker that offers this. (the symbol is XAU/USD)
