Where can I find gold bullion on east coast?

I remember about ten years, you could take $10,000 to the treasury department and get a gold bar, but things have changed. I've been out of the states and gold is much more accessible overseas. I know Austin Rare Coins is still a good place, but does anyone know of places in New York, or D.C.?

2. I'm familiar with going to my local bank and asking them if they sell gold bars, particularly investment grade gold bars. Usually they do in 1 ounce, and I believe 40 ounce specs.
