What currency is more liquid?

Gold/Silver--coins or Gold/Silver--Bullion Bars ?????

Public Comments

  1. Both are not very liquid. You should buy GLD
  2. Neither of those are particularly liquid. Cash is the most liquid you can get. Coins would be more liquid than bars though, because you can give smaller amounts. Much easier to pay $5 with silver coins than with a 1 kg bar of silver.
  3. The coins. They are recognizable. Bars are less standard and would have to be assayed before anybody would pay you for them (there are some exceptions, like CS stamped and numbers ingots).
