What is the difference between gold bullion and gold coins? seems coins are worth more. thanks?

  1. Gold bullion would make several hundred gold coins. Bullion is the form the government makes gold into for easy storage and to be able to know how much is stored as bullions all weigh the same amount.
  2. Bullion is generally a much larger concentration of gold - weighs more - whereas the coin is a functioning currency. There is more "value" in the coin due to design - IMOHO
  3. Gold bullion is simply a plain bar of gold. Gold coins do not necessarily worth more in terms of weight and purity of gold, but they are often sell for more because they have a fancy mint design...American Eagle, Canadian Maple Leaf etc.
