How do you price gold jewelry ?

How would I go about pricing a gold ring for instance ?

1. Weight, purity, rarity, other components all enter into the price. If you want an idea, take it to some pawn shops for estimates.
2. Jewelry can be sold for the gold content or its worth as jewelry. For gold content just weigh it. 14k gold would be worth about 700 an ounce. This is based on $1200 an ounce for 24k gold but it has been falling for the last couple of days. As jewelry it is much more difficult. Go to eBay and see what the same style jewelry is selling for. ₪ ʎəɿʞɹɐq ₪
3. You need to know the purity(carat), and the weight. This would give the scrap gold value. A unique/ornate ring might be worth more. Best to hawk it around jewellers shops, to get quotes.
